What Does "La Senda" Mean?
"La Senda" means the path.
We believe in great, fresh coffee, and we believe in the impact of education. At La Senda Coffee (previously Camino Coffee), we work hard to make both a reality.
We provide small-batch coffee that's roasted to perfection. Each cup of coffee made, and each pound of coffee purchased helps create a pathway to education and a brighter future for children in Guatemala. Our net proceeds goes towards making this happen through an organization called Global Shore Opportunities.
And so, we truly believe that coffee can cultivate change with every cup!
New Roasts Alert!
How exciting! We have two new roasts coming your way. You're able to pre-order via email (coffee.lasenda@gmail.com).
(1) Naturally Processed: We have a small coffee plantation we can call our own, where we have been growing and harvesting our own beans. We decided to process them naturally - meaning the process of natural drying involves the beans being dried in the full cherry prior to de-pulping. Naturally Processed roasts tend to have more fruity and fermented flavours because the bean has more time to interact with the natural sugars from the cherry as enzymes break down the mucilage around the bean!
(2) Dark Roast: Our dark roast comes from our imported Guatemalan beans. The roasting process, done in Canada, involves roasting the beans at a higher temperature for a dark roast. Those aromas and tastes developed during the initial stages are combusted and new aromas that are toasty, smoky and spicy develop. Sweet and acidic tastes are replaced by the development of bitters.
If you're interested in these - stay tuned on our Instagram (@lasendacoffee) for when they're available. And get on the waitlist by emailing us your pre-order!
